Tucked into the Husky Union Building (HUB), the UW HUB Esports Arena & Gaming Lounge stands as one of the country’s trailblazing collegiate gaming hubs, formally launched with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in April 2019. Covering roughly 1,000 square feet, this versatile esports center delivers top-tier tech and a lively community vibe for casual drop-ins and serious competitors alike. The arena packs 40 premium gaming PCs, VR stations, and a dedicated casting booth for live-streaming to Twitch and beyond—creating a dynamic bridge between social hangouts, varsity training, and pro-level content creation that ties esports to academics, career skills, and campus life. Affordable access keeps it welcoming, while partnerships with Twitch Student and the Reality Lab add layers of broadcasting, game dev, and tech research opportunities.

The facility is open to the general public alongside UW students, faculty, and staff—walk-ins welcome with off-campus rates at $6.50/hr or 10-hour bundles at $65, while students enjoy discounted access at $3.50/hr. Public-friendly perks include free first-time trials, “$2.50 Tuesdays,” and monthly “Free First Monday” events with three complimentary hours.
