Terps Esports & Eppley Rec Esports Lab – University of Maryland’s Big Ten Esports Powerhouse

UMD Terps Esports & Eppley Rec Esports Lab at University of Maryland’s  Esports program delivers a dynamic fusion of premier competition and recreational gaming through the Eppley Recreation Center’s dedicated esports spaces. Managed by University Recreation & Wellness (RecWell), these facilities empower students, alumni, and supporters with inclusive pathways to compete, create, and connect in the BIG Esports Conference (BEC).

The Eppley Rec Esports Lab is open to the general public alongside UMD students and affiliates via RecWell membership or day passes ($5/visit or $40/month), while varsity training in Knight Hall Studio C is student-focused with public viewing for streamed events.

Premier Teams represent Maryland in high-stakes publisher tournaments, Academy Teams nurture rising talent, and Game Changers champion underrepresented players—all fueled by a 7-seat competitive studio with low-latency networking. Knight Hall’s Studio C broadcasts matches via a journalism partnership, blending production prowess with live action for Twitch audiences.
