SOU Esports Arena (“The Hub”) – Campus Gaming & Competitive Esports at Southern Oregon University

SOU Esports Arena, affectionately dubbed “The Hub,” pulses as the go-to gaming spot inside the Student Recreation Center—east of Raider Stadium and McLoughlin Hall—where students, staff, and community guests unite for varsity battles and laid-back sessions. Launched in 2020, this polished, inclusive venue weaves esports into campus rhythm, blending high-stakes training with open-door fun.

As a university recreation facility, it is open to the general public alongside SOU students and staff, with community guests welcome via SRC membership or drop-ins, ensuring broad access beyond campus boundaries.

The Hub flexes for everything from casual drop-ins to squad scrims, packing 12–13 Alienware stations with premium peripherals, gaming chairs, controllers, headsets, and powerhouse PCs—optimized for comfort during marathons or quick clashes. It backs varsity teams in Valorant, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, and Rocket League, while fueling student-led tournaments, intramurals, and community programs that spark connection and skill.

Tied to SOU’s Esports Management minor, the arena isn’t just for frags—it’s a launchpad for industry smarts like marketing, event ops, ethics, and promo strategies, empowering players to chase careers in gaming’s creative and competitive corners.
