Localhost Gaming & Esports Facility – 70 PC Lounge at Rowan University (Nerd Street Partnership)

More than a lounge, Localhost is a living lab where gamers, creators, and innovators converge to play, learn, and launch. Tucked at 109 High Street West on Rowan University’s campus, Localhost opened in April 2023 as Nerd Street Gamers’ first-ever collegiate venue, a 7,100 sq ft powerhouse built to bridge campus life, pro-grade gaming, and career pathways. This partnership-driven space welcomes Rowan students and the local community with elite hardware, regular tournaments, and a buzzing social scene.

The facility is open to the general public alongside Rowan students, with walk-in rates, memberships, and event access available to all, no campus ID required.

The main floor rocks 50 gaming PCs, a 5v5 stage with 10 more stations, and a private 10-PC varsity room for scrims, bootcamps, and broadcasts. Add a console lounge stocked with PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch, plus full production studios used by the College of Communication & Creative Arts after hours. It’s a seamless blend of open-play chaos and structured competition.

Rowan’s varsity esports, intramurals, and student clubs thrive here, battling in Valorant, Rocket League, League of Legends, Super Smash Bros., and more. Weekly events Smash The Glass, Fortnite Creative Clash, CS2 LANs run through Discord and official channels, while the space doubles as a career incubator for the university’s B.A. in Esports, minors, and certificates in esports business, communications, and computing.
