Husson University Esports Center – Bangor’s Collegiate Launchpad for Competitive & Casual Play

Husson University Esports Center, unveiled in January 2022, marks Bangor’s entry into collegiate gaming with a state-of-the-art arena in the Darling Learning Center. This $170,000 investment delivers a pro-ready space for varsity squads and casual drop-ins, blending high-stakes training with open-play energy.

As a university-managed facility, it is open exclusively to current Husson students and faculty/staff, with no general public or neighboring community access available.

The center packs 28 high-end PC setups, seven competition-focused rigs, and five console stations (Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5)—all with lounge seating for comfort during marathons. A dedicated streaming room with casting desk, camera, and green screen lets students produce and broadcast matches, turning practice into polished content.

Husson’s varsity teams clash in League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, Valorant, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate across the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC), with recent highlights like the Overwatch 2 Gold team’s 2024 ECAC JV championship. Open hours, weekend tourneys, and watch parties keep the vibe alive for all skill levels.
