Esports Nexus – Dual-Purpose Gaming Haven at University of North Dakota

Esports Nexus at the University of North Dakota delivers a two-in-one gaming powerhouse: the Nexus Esports Gaming Lounge for open rec play and a $1.2 million varsity facility in Swanson Hall, launched spring 2023. This 3,000 sq ft arena splits into practice, competition, and coaching zones, plus a pro broadcast studio and a relaxed lounge with plush gaming chairs and big-screen TV crafting a seamless shift from casual hangs to elite scrims.

The Nexus Lounge is open to the general public alongside UND students, faculty, and staff via Wellness Center membership ($40/month or $5/visit), while the varsity facility remains exclusive to enrolled student-athletes.

The Nexus Lounge keeps club, intramural, and community gamers rolling with drop-ins and LAN nights, while the varsity space powers varsity, JV, and developmental teams in collegiate leagues and high-school invitationals. Students rave about it as a true esports sanctuary—where every zone fuels growth, connection, and next-level play.
