UTC Esports Complex – Polished Campus Arena with Elite PCs & Incoming Console Setup

Tucked into Room 201 of Maclellan Gym, the UTC Esports Complex marks the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s bold leap into varsity-grade gaming. Launched as a formal program under the Office of Information Technology in July 2024, it evolved from a student club into a structured powerhouse for competitive and casual play.

As a university-managed facility, it is open exclusively to current UTC students via swipe-in access, with no general public or neighboring community entry available.

The arena boasts 25 powerhouse gaming PCs, each armed with AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D CPUs, Radeon RX 7800 XT GPUs, 280 Hz ASUS TUF displays, SteelSeries gear, and Respawn ergonomic chairs, creating a pro-caliber setup for intense matches or relaxed sessions. Console integration is on the horizon, expanding options beyond PC dominance.

Free for students with ID swipe, the complex fuels varsity and academy teams in Call of Duty, Valorant, League of Legends, Overwatch, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, complete with scholarships and academic standards. It’s more than a battleground—it’s a learning lab, hosting tech courses, content creation, and skill-building workshops.

Led by esports coordinator Chase Daffron (a UTC alum and MBA student), the program now engages 60 active members, blending rivalry with professional development, brand growth, and community spirit. From scrims to stream setups, the complex is fast becoming Chattanooga’s collegiate esports heartbeat.
