USC Upstate Esports Lounge – Spartanburg, SC, USA

USC Upstate Esports Lounge – Varsity-Level Collegiate Hub for High-End PCs & Competitive Gaming
Tucked inside the Health Education Complex at Room 1104 on USC Upstate’s campus, the Esports Lounge debuted with a ribbon-cutting in March 2022 as a 1,600 sq ft powerhouse for gaming culture and campus competition. This dedicated space—launched to spark esports energy—blends social vibes with structured play, giving Spartans a central spot to connect and clash. The lounge packs 45 Alienware stations, each loaded with 11th-gen Intel Core i9 processors, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB drives, and NVIDIA RTX 3090 graphics—paired with a console zone for seamless shifts between PC battles and couch co-op. It’s primed for everything from quick friend sessions to squad scrims, supporting a mix of multiplayer mayhem and relaxed exploration.
As a university-managed facility, it is open exclusively to current USC Upstate students, faculty, and staff, with no general public or neighboring community access available.
The esports program kicked off as a club in Spring 2022 before leveling up to varsity in Fall, fielding teams in League of Legends, Valorant, and Rocket League—with eyes on more titles ahead. Open to all skill levels, it invites drop-ins for casual hangs or tryouts for the squads, weaving competition into campus life with an inclusive edge that welcomes newcomers and vets alike.
