University of Southern Maine Esports Arena – Maine’s Largest Collegiate Esports Program

The University of Southern Maine Esports Arena, unveiled in fall 2024 as the Collab: Esports Arena by Town & Country, anchors the state’s biggest collegiate esports initiative with a state-of-the-art setup on the Gorham campus. This $750,000 gift from Town & Country Federal Credit Union transformed the Brooks Student Center into a 1,500 sq ft powerhouse for over 170 student-athletes, blending pro-grade competition with equitable access for all Huskies.

As a university recreation facility, it is open to the general public alongside USM students, faculty, and staff—walk-ins welcome for drop-ins, with non-students paying standard rates or memberships, ensuring community inclusivity beyond campus.

The arena packs high-performance PCs, consoles, and broadcast tools for varsity teams in Valorant, League of Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch 2, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate hosting scrims, tournaments, and watch parties that fuel Maine’s gaming wave. It’s a launchpad where students sharpen skills, stream matches, and build bonds, all while tying into USM’s esports minor for career prep.
