Ruth Funk Esports Center – Florida Tech’s All-Student Gaming Powerhouse

Ruth Funk Center has evolved into a comprehensive esports complex, welcoming every Panther to its doors with a blend of cutting-edge hardware and versatile spaces. Positioned between Evans Library and the Denius Student Union, this renovated hub unveiled in September 2021 after six months of upgrades, it delivers 60 gaming PCs (36 OMEN by HP and 24 ByteSpeed units), all on Spectrum Evolution desks with RESPAWN chairs for marathon comfort.

As a university-managed facility, it is open exclusively to current Florida Tech students via ID card access, with no general public or neighboring community entry available.

A 6v6 competition stage amps the intensity, while the console room rocks Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 stations around 42-inch TVs for couch co-op. Round it out with a student lounge, production/broadcast room, and vending machines, everything needed for drop-ins, varsity clashes, or casual hangs. Varsity and JV teams grind here alongside club play and non-gaming roles like shoutcasting or production, turning the center into a full-spectrum launchpad for campus esports culture.
